What you need to know about maintaining your brushes and eyelashes!
A dirty makeup brush and eyelashes can have worse consequences than just a shoddy application and look. The bacteria in used makeup brushes and lashes can cause breakouts, pink eye, cold sores, and even infection. For them to last long and give a flawless finish, these brushes and lashes need TLC just like any other tool you use for your skincare.
The build-up of dirt and oil in brushes can lead to acne breakouts, so you should clean your brushes twice a week and your eyelashes after each application.
The process followed to clean brushes and lashes are a little different from each other. When cleaning brushes, follow these simple steps and they will make your brushes as good as new.
1) Wet the bristles with lukewarm water.
2) Add a drop of the paraben-free/sulfate-free cleanser of choice onto the brush. You can also use a soap bar.
3) Gently massage the tips of the bristles in your palm or onto the soap bar.
4) Rinse the bristles thoroughly.
5) Squeeze out the excess moisture with a clean towel & if the brush bristles are spread out make sure you bring them back to shape.
6) Leave the brush to air-dry or leave the brush to dry with its bristles hanging off the edge of a counter. You can also leave them to dry in the sun.
As for lashes, investing in a good pair of realistic-looking lashes can be a bit of a luxury, so there’s no reason they should be a single-serving beauty product.
You can easily remove mascara clumps and glue residue from false lashes, so they look as good as the day you bought them.
Here are some tips on maintaining your lashes. A multipurpose cleansing liquid such as micellar water is the safest solution for cleaning eyelashes.
Always start by removing any excess glue that is still on the lash band. To do this, take a tweezer and gently pick any remaining glue off the band using the tweezer.
The following steps are simple: soaking cotton pads in makeup remover or micellar water and lightly pressing eyelash strips between places to dissolve mascara or makeup. We suggest placing the lashes in the packaging received to ensure hygiene is not compromised and to keep their shape.
If you follow these tips, you can extend the life of your false lashes and save money at the same time.
